The temple management has come up with a unique way to prevent fraud in the name of admission to Bhasma Aarti at the famous Mahakal temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The temple management has made arrangements that now no unauthorized person can enter the Bhasma Aarti. Under this system, it has been made mandatory for devotees to wear FAST tags i.e. radio frequency bands. Now the devotees participating in Bhasma Aarti will have to wear bands on their hands. The band will be scanned at the temple gate and only then will they be allowed inside.

Apart from this many corporate companies have also installed such RFID system for campus entry. According to the temple management, currently around 1600 devotees are coming for Bhasma Aarti every day. Crowds increase significantly during festivals. In such a situation all these devotees will be given RFID before entering Bhasma Aarti. Along with this, their biometric data will also be available. According to the temple management, Baba Mahakal’s Bhasma Aarti is performed daily at 4 am. Everyone is eager to see him, but only 1600 devotees get entry.

Access will be provided via RFID

In which devotees are allowed to access offline, online and as per protocol. Fraudsters were taking advantage of this system. He takes 8 to 10 thousand rupees from devotees and gives fake passes. Such cases are constantly being discovered. Seeing this chaos, the temple management has intensified its efforts to awaken the devotees. An arrangement has also been made that now only those devotees who have RFID on their wrists will be allowed entry.

Tags will be attached to the flap barrier

According to Ganesh Dhakad, administrator of Sri Mahakaleshwar Management Committee, the new security system will reduce fraud cases. He said that once the RFID is installed, devotees will not need to show permission again and again. He said that all these fast tags will be attached to the flap barrier. The advantage of this is that as soon as the person reaches the barrier wearing this band, the barrier will automatically increase. A similar arrangement is commonly found at metro stations and airports as well.
