Three films are releasing on the same day
Six big films are releasing on August 15, three from Bollywood and three from South. South films include ‘Double iSmart’, ‘Tanglan’ and ‘Mr Bachchan’. ‘Stri 2’, ‘Khel Khel Main’ and ‘Veda’ are releasing on Independence Day from the Hindi film industry. That means the field is set, the competition is going to be tough.
South movies won’t hurt Hindi movies much and Hindi movies are also out of reach of South audience. But all the three Bollywood movies will definitely hurt each other. Director Madhur Bhandakar has said an important thing about this clash. Let us tell you what that thing is.
‘Everybody wants to watch a movie on OTT’
While talking to Bollywood Hungama, Madhur said that not everyone can make ‘Baahubali’, which means that the picture doesn’t necessarily get the same response. Nowadays viewers have become smarter. In his words, “People of this age are very picky. Not everyone can make films like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Kalki’. Apart from this, whatever films are made, people think that they will come on OTT very soon. That’s why they don’t like going to theaters to watch movies.”
The cinema hall will remain!
Speaking further, he said that you cannot challenge technology. It will remain so and the theaters will survive. In the 1980s, people were saying that cinema halls could not survive anymore, because this was the era of video cassettes. After this came cable TV. Now it’s OTT’s turn. But the cinema hall is still occupied and will be in the future.
Where will the money come from to watch three movies at once?
Madhur Bhandarkar spoke the truth next. According to him, when three films are released simultaneously, no one has enough money to watch all three films. Will go to see a single movie. He said, “As I said, public is selective. If three big films are released on the same day, will a working class person have the money to watch all three films? At most he can watch only one film.”
Madhur Bhandarkar is right. No one has enough money or time to watch all three films. 6 films are releasing this Friday. ‘Stri 2’ is at the forefront of this. It is being said that this film can do a business of Rs 40 crore on the first day. Rest let’s see when all the movies will be released, which side will the camel sit on.
