A businessman has been defrauded of Rs 17.5 lakh on the pretext of getting his son married in Durg, Chhattisgarh. The merchant wanted only a Jain girl for his son. On top of that, the merchant’s son was also a little older. The lady agent who arranged the marriage took advantage of it. He married a young man to a young woman. In return, lakhs of rupees were also embezzled. But on the wedding night, the groom was shocked to learn the bride’s truth. He has filed a fraud case against 7 people including the bride.

The case is of Saturday market. A businessman living here was looking for marriage for his 43 year old businessman son. He was looking for a Jain girl. Because the family belongs to Jain religion. The young man has five sisters. First their marriage was arranged. Because of which the young man’s own marriage was delayed. She was too old for marriage. It was becoming difficult to find the girl. Hence the family discussed this with an acquaintance of theirs, Mahaveer Jain, who lives in Surat.

Mahaveer tells him about Sarla, a marriage agent from Indore. On this, Sarla sent the resume of Purva Bharti Jain, a girl from Indore. The youth’s father, sister and younger brother went to Indore to see the girl to take the matter forward. There was a young man in the house then, who is said to be the younger brother of the bride. The girl’s family members said that she is also a Jain. The name of the girl was said to be Poorva Jain.

Later, the marriage agent Sarla demanded one and a half lakh rupees from the groom to settle the relationship. Then the groom’s family immediately gave 11,000 rupees. Shantilal Gandhi and elder brother Mahavir were introduced as the girl’s father on 9 April. The marriage was arranged on the condition that the entire wedding expenses of around 16 lakh rupees would be borne by the boy’s family.

In this way he kept embezzling millions of rupees

When the relationship was finalized, agent Sarla started demanding Rs 16 lakh from the groom. On this he gave 5.5 lakh rupees to Sarla. The remaining amount was asked to be given at the time of marriage. Poorva and other members of her family reached the groom’s house in Durga on April 23. The engagement took place and the alleged bride’s party took another 3 lakh rupees. The wedding took place on May 3 in a hotel in Indore. Its expenses were also taken from the groom. The remaining amount of Rs.8.9 lakh was also taken on the spot. A total of Rs.17.5 lakh was thus recovered.

Suspicion fell on the girl

But when the wedding night came, the bridegroom became suspicious of the bride for some unfathomable reason. The groom said- show me your aadhar card. But the bride started hedging. The doubt that arose in the groom’s mind deepened. After that he repeatedly asked the girl to show her Aadhaar card. But the girl hesitated. After this, one day the groom got his Aadhaar card from somewhere. He was shocked to see the bride’s name written on it. The girl did not belong to the Jain community. Rather, the maiden’s surname was somewhat different. Seeing this, the groom held his forehead. After this he went to the police station and registered a case of cheating.

When the police registered the case, it was found that not only the bride but everyone else had given false names in favor of the groom. Currently, further investigation is going on against him.
