Bhupinder Singh Hooda: Assembly elections are to be held in Haryana in the next two months. For this, Election Commission of India and all political parties have started preparations. The tenure of the current Haryana Assembly will end on November 3 this year. Meanwhile, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda has made a big statement in the Haryana Congress on the issue related to the Chief Minister’s face on Tuesday.

Senior Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed his views on the party’s CM face and the upcoming elections in an interview to ANI here. On a question related to the Chief Minister’s face in the Haryana Assembly, he said that he is neither tired nor ‘retired’. However, he said that if the party gets a majority in the assembly elections, the high command will take a decision on the chief minister.

During this time, a senior party leader also dismissed talk of factionalism in the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee. He said that there may be differences in the Haryana Congress, but there is no difference. The Congress leader further said that all the leaders will fight unitedly in the assembly elections to be held in Haryana.

The former Haryana chief minister had hoped for a massive majority for the Congress in the assembly elections and said that the Janayak Janata Party (JJP) and the Indian National Lok Dal were ‘vote cutting’ parties. They will have no impact in the upcoming elections, as 36 communities in the state have decided to bring the Congress back to power. Hooda says that the Congress is fully prepared for the assembly elections.

Along with this, on the issue of assembly elections, he said that when we left the government in 2014, Haryana was number one in terms of per capita income, investment, employment and law and order. Now Haryana is number one in unemployment and inflation. The law and order situation in the state has deteriorated. The Congress leader said that Haryana has lagged far behind. All these issues will be in this election. On factionalism in the party, he said that the state Congress committee is not divided into factions, but the BJP is definitely divided into factions.

He said, ‘There may be disagreement, but there is no disagreement. The party is one and will fight the elections unitedly. Should Congress announce Chief Ministerial candidate in Haryana? On that, the former CM said, ‘Congress has a definite process. Elections are held, MLAs are elected. The inspectors talk to the legislators and then the high command takes a decision.

Vinesh Phogat should be sent to Rajya Sabha

Asked whether his son and MP Dipendra Hooda could also be a chief ministerial contender, Hooda said, ‘I have already said that the party decides… As far as I am concerned, I am not tired. Nor retired. Meanwhile, the Congress leader also reacted on the case of female wrestler Vinesh Phogat.

Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda said that Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification should be investigated. They should get the same respect that a gold medalist gets. He also asked that Vinesh Phogat be sent to the Rajya Sabha. Hooda said that all parties should come together and send him to the Rajya Sabha and if not, the President can nominate him.
