After winning the Lok Sabha elections, PM Narendra Modi, who became the Prime Minister for the third time, reached Srinagar on Thursday evening. After laying the foundation stone and inaugurating the multi-crore project, PM Narendra Modi assured that the process of holding assembly elections has started and Jammu and Kashmir will soon be granted statehood. On the second day of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, PM Narendra will celebrate International Yoga Day on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on June 21 this year. PM Modi will attend the Yoga Day program at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) in Srinagar at 6:30 am on Friday.

On this occasion, PM Narendra Modi will also address the common people. At around 6.40 am in Srinagar, the country will announce the world on Yoga Day. PM will do mass yoga after about 20 minutes of speech PM Modi’s mass yoga will start at 7 am. On the initiative of PM Modi, the United Nations has decided to celebrate June 21 as World Yoga Day.

About 7000 people are expected to participate in the event organized at SKICC. The theme of this year’s International Yoga Day is ‘Yoga for Self and Society’, highlighting the dual role of yoga in promoting individual and social well-being.

The Srinagar administration is all set to host the country’s flagship program on International Yoga Day in the city. The administration led by Union Territory Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha has made special arrangements for the event. Strict security arrangements have been made keeping in mind the Prime Minister’s programme.

This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after assuming office for a record third time. In February this year, the Prime Minister visited Srinagar and addressed a rally ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won two of the five seats in Jammu and Kashmir, both in the Jammu region.

Apart from party workers, students, officials and sports personalities and enthusiasts are expected to attend the event. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), at the call of Prime Minister Modi, announced in December 2014 to celebrate June 21 every year as the International Day of Yoga.

Since 2015, the Prime Minister has been attending International Yoga Day celebrations at various prestigious locations including the duty path of Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Jabalpur and the United Nations Headquarters in New York, where he hosted the event last year. is celebrated.

Ahead of Friday’s main event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been sharing various asanas on his X account, spreading awareness about yoga and its benefits. PM Modi has shared several tutorial videos, including animations explaining how to perform certain yoga asanas.

In the past years, International Yoga Day has created four Guinness Book of World Records. In 2015, a total of 35,985 Indians performed yoga on the Rajpath with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to a government press release, a total of 84 countries participated in the yoga session at one place and gradually the number of participants from all over the world is increasing every year. Last year in 2023, around 23.4 crore people from around the world participated in yoga programs.
