Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Wednesday said that India’s own 4G technology stack will be in place by mid-2025. Scindia also underlined three big goals for the country and the government at the 51st edition of the AIMA National Management Conference. He said that for the first time in its existence, India has developed its own 4G technology stack, which will be in place by mid-next year.

Focus on indigenous technology

Scindia said it is important to not only deploy technology but also design and develop indigenous technology. He said we have set three objectives. The first objective is to ensure integrity. Every part of our country should be connected to digital technology. Every person should be able to take advantage of all the opportunities that the digital revolution offers. Scindia said India has installed around four and a half lakh towers across the country. The government has committed to installing around 20,000 more towers and has allocated Rs 44,000 crore for this initiative.

Emphasis on branding in India

He said that by the middle of fiscal year 2024-25, we will achieve the target of 100 per cent completion in our country. Modi said that the second objective is to emphasize on Make in India and the same change will have to be introduced in the telecom equipment sector. He said that the third objective is to ensure that India has future-oriented technology; it is important for us to adopt new technology, but it is also important that we use our capabilities to produce new technology.

Scindia also spoke about the Postal Act and the new Telecom Act and promised transformative changes. He said Scindia said that I promise all of you that by December this year, both the departments will implement a very transparent and forward-looking system of rules which will bring a new change in our sector.
