Janata Dal United leader KC Tyagi, a regional party in Bihar and a key ally of the BJP, said on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s coalition government is completely safe. He will easily complete his tenure and has no threat from opposition or allies. Along with this, he expressed full confidence in the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Recently, after resigning from the post of JDU spokesperson, KC Tyagi has said this in a conversation with ‘PTI’. He said that his stand was always in line with the ideology of the party. He has full faith in the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. According to political commentators, his resignation from the post of party spokesperson was a result of his outspoken statements on several issues that made the government uncomfortable.

No one can match Nitish’s charisma

However, KC Tyagi rejected the suggestion that many of his party colleagues were uncomfortable with his statements on issues such as the Israel-Hamas war and lateral access. He said that for him JDU means Nitish Kumar who is also the president of the party. Tyagi, who has been active in socialist politics for over five decades, said, ‘I am only for Nitish Kumar in JDU. He is my friend and leader. All that matters to me is their concern.

He said that he will never leave JDU and it is not in his nature to leave Nitish Kumar. Tyagi asserted that no leader can match Nitish Kumar’s charisma. He said, ‘There is no one like Nitish Kumar.’ He praised Nitish Kumar for his honesty, lack of casteism and for bringing good governance to the state. He said, ‘I have worked with Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Prasad and many other socialists. There is no one like Nitish.

Lateral entry and stay intact on Palestine

Tyagi said that he had been asking Nitish Kumar to be relieved from the post of spokesperson for a long time. The party president asked him to continue in his post as political adviser. He said that his opposition to ‘lateral entry’ was consistent with socialist politics and that support for Palestine reflected India’s historical position.

Tyagi was the only NDA leader to sign a statement condemning Israel for the ‘genocide’ of Palestinians along with several opposition MPs and others. In this order he asked India not to supply any kind of arms to Israel.

Praise of Nehru, Vajpayee, sarcasm on Rahul

When asked about the Modi government’s third term, he said, ‘There is no threat to the government. He faces no challenge from anywhere, neither from the opposition nor from his allies. He will complete his term. Meanwhile, the JDU leader also praised Jawaharlal Nehru and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Tyagi said that Nehru had no qualms about apologizing for his mistakes. At the same time, Vajpayee was the first to incite the Left to protest. It was then used to thwart America’s attempt to involve India in the Iraq war.

However, Tyagi took a dig at the Congress and said that Rahul Gandhi is now advocating the interests of other backward classes. But his father Rajiv Gandhi gave a speech in Parliament for over two-and-a-half hours to oppose the VP Singh government’s decision to implement the Mandal Commission report.

Nitish Kumar won’t go anywhere now – KC Tyagi

On Nitish Kumar’s history of changing alliances, he said that every party has joined hands with its opponents. He cited several examples, in which the Congress joined hands with the DMK and the BJP joined hands with both the National Conference and the People’s Democratic Party at different times. Also, he jokingly said that Nitish Kumar has become a bit more infamous. Tyagi asserted that Nitish Kumar is not going anywhere now. Will stay with BJP.
