PM Modi, Sanjay Jha and Nitish Kumar.
The Janata Dal United JD (U) will now always be a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). JDU will not break ties with RJD now. After the JD(U) national executive meeting, JD(U) spokesperson KC Tyagi said that he (CM Nitish Kumar) has announced to the national executive that now he will always be a part of the NDA alliance. Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Jha has been appointed as the new working president in the JD(U) executive meeting held on Saturday. The decision to make Sanjay Jha the acting chairman is politically very important, as he has a very good relationship with Beche.
At the same time, the party reiterated its demand for special category status for Bihar and demanded that the Center could also consider the option in a special package.
Along with this, BJP’s ally also demanded strict action against the culprits in the exam paper leak case and called for a strong law to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The meeting held in Delhi was attended by Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) President Nitish Kumar, Union Ministers Lalan Singh and Ram Nath Thakur and other senior leaders from across the country. In the meeting, JDU National Working President Sanjay Jha said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has entrusted me with a big responsibility. I express my gratitude to them. He has brought a big change in Bihar in 20 years.
The decision to appoint Sanjay Jha as the working president is significant as he has good equations with the BJP leadership. He is also the leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha. Party sources said Jha is best suited to have a good rapport with the BJP and maintain friendly relations between the two parties, which have had a history of ups and downs.
Sanjay Jha has good equations with BJP
After his appointment, Sanjay Jha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always focused on Bihar and hoped that the party’s demand for special category status or a package for the state would be met. The JD(U) national executive expressed confidence that the NDA government at the Center would take more effective action on ‘burning issues’ like inflation and unemployment.
In a political resolution, the JD(U) national executive expressed concern over the Patna High Court’s decision to strike down the Bihar government’s law to increase reservation, urging the Center to place the law in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution so that it can increase reservation. Subject to judicial review the possibility may be eliminated.
The JD(U) contested the Lok Sabha elections along with the BJP in Bihar and is currently part of the NDA alliance. However, in the past, after severing ties with the NDA, Nitish Kumar formed a government with Rajedi leader Tejashwi Yadav and played a leading role in the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
