Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big claim. He has said that he was offered the post of Prime Minister before the Lok Sabha elections but he rejected the offer. Gadkari said that this offer was made by a senior opposition leader but I declined saying that I had no desire for the post.

Referring to the incident during a journalism award in Nagpur, Gadkari said, “I will not name anyone but the leader who offered me this said we will support you if you become the Prime Minister.” I asked him why you want to support me and why should I take your support? I told him that becoming a PM is not my goal in life.

I am loyal to my ideology

I told them that I am loyal to my ideology and organization. I am at the party that has given me everything I never dreamed of. No offer can tempt me. I will not compromise for any position as I am a person of strong faith. Meanwhile, Gadkari emphasized the importance of ethics in both journalism and politics.

Gadkari laid special emphasis on ethics

In his speech, Gadkari also said that a person who opposes sincerely should be respected. Democracy can be successful only when all four pillars like judiciary, executive, legislature and media follow ethics. Gadkari honored four senior journalists with the Anilkumar Award for Excellence in Journalism for 2023-24 at the ceremony.
