In Uttar Pradesh, electricity consumers have to pay normal line charges to get a connection within 40 meters. Currently, a charge of 150 rupees has to be paid for a 2 kilowatt power connection. At the same time, for 3 to 4 kW connection, a line charge of Rs 398 is charged. At the same time, for a connection of 5 to 10 kilowatts, consumers will have to pay Rs 2036. In the proposal sent by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited to the Regulatory Commission, the line charge for 2 kW will increase from Rs 150 to Rs 1500.
