NEET controversy: CBI to interrogate accused arrested in Bihar and Gujarat, report awaited

Students are protesting across the country over the issue of NEET paper leak. There has been a huge uproar in this matter. Along with the students, many organizations and political parties are also raising their voice against the examination scam. The responsibility of the investigation has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). For which the CBI team reached Bihar on Monday, June 24.

Meanwhile, according to important information received from police sources, CBI will interrogate the accused arrested by Bihar Police and Gujarat Police. It is being said that they will remand all the accused one by one and interrogate them in the paper leak matter. At the same time, the HRD Ministry has asked the CBI to conduct a thorough investigation if any role of public servants is found.

The CBI is awaiting the forensic report

Currently, the CBI is awaiting the forensic report of the mobile phones and exam/question papers seized from the accused. After receiving the report, CBI will study it. The CBI suspects that the NEET leak could be more localized as the paper was distributed among a close group.

So far 25 people have been arrested

So far 25 people have been arrested in the NEET paper leak case. In which 18 have been arrested from Bihar and Jharkhand, 2 from Maharashtra and 5 from Gujarat. Its wires are also seen connecting with other states. On the complaint of the Ministry of Education, the CBI has registered an FIR under sections 420, 406 and 120B of the IPC in the NEET exam paper leak case.

CBI team in Bihar, Gujarat

Along with Bihar, another CBI team has reached Godhra in Gujarat to investigate this case. On Monday, the team reached Shastrinagar Police Station in Patna. After this, he accompanied the police to the office of the Economic Offenses Unit i.e. EOU, where he took all the information about the case from the EOU. The main objective of the CBI is to detect irregularities in the process of preparation of examination papers, printing and dispatch of the same to different locations as well as between the examination center and the distribution process.
