A series of meetings is going on for the distribution of seats among the Mahavikas Aghadi parties for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. It is not yet decided who will get how many seats. But the demand for some special seats has started increasing. One of these seats is the Anushaktinagar assembly constituency in Mumbai. It is believed to be the constituency of NCP MLA Nawab Malik of the Ajit Pawar faction. In the grand alliance, this seat is likely to go to Ajit Pawar. However, the important question is whether Ajit Pawar will give Nawab Malik another chance on this seat?
On the other hand, there is a huge uproar in Mahavikas Aghadi regarding this meeting. Mahavikas Aghadi is also preparing to field an equally strong candidate against Nawab Malik and for this reason it is being speculated that actress Swara Bhaskar’s husband Fahad Ahmed may enter the fray. Information is coming out that Samajwadi Party has demanded Anushaktinagar seat near Mahavikas Aghadi.
Fahad Ahmed is the young face of SP
Fahad Ahmed is the leader of Samajwadi Party. Ahmed is currently working as the youth state president of the Samajwadi Party. Fahad Ahmed joined Samajwadi Party in 2022. Before this he has worked in student organizations. He has been participating in many rallies and agitations. Prakash Ambedkar, head of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, also supported his movement.
Fahad Ahmed agitated for fee waiver for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Class students. He also enthusiastically participated in rallies against the CAA Act. Fahad got married to film actress Swara Bhaskar on 16 February 2023.
Heavy fighting is possible in Anushaktinagar
Anushaktinagar assembly constituency was formed in the year 2008. Nawab Malik won this seat in 2009. Then in 2014, Shiv Sena’s Tukaram Kat won. But in 2019, Nawab Malik won again from here. But there is talk that Nawab Malik may be defeated in the next assembly elections. Ajit Pawar may give ticket to his daughter due to fresh money laundering charges against him.
Nawab Malik was surrounded by clouds of crisis
Nawab Malik was also the Minority Minister of the state when Mahavikas formed the government of Aghadi. Nawab Malik was also arrested in a money laundering case. He remained in jail for several months. Additionally, after the change of power in the state, Nawab Malik has been granted bail on health grounds. Malik Ajit Pawar joined the group. It is not clear whether he will be able to contest the next election or not.
