Naseeruddin Shah is one of the powerful actors of the Bollywood industry. Along with acting, he is always in the news for his outspoken speeches. He openly expresses his views on political and social issues in various interviews. In a recent interview, he commented on the results of the Lok Sabha elections. He also told what this indicates in the future. Naseeruddin Shah also said that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi can make Muslims understand that he does not hate them, it will help them a lot. While telling this anecdote, he remembered an old anecdote of Modi, when he refused to wear a Muslim net cap. He said that it is difficult to forget this.

In an interview with ‘The Wire’ Naseeruddin Shah He was asked what went through his mind when he realised that the BJP did not get a majority, had its worst electoral performance in 10 years and that a coalition government would be formed in the country. He said, “First of all, I felt good. Then I told myself that this is a time of introspection for the losers, the winners, the Hindus, the Muslims, the government and all of us.” When asked what changes he expects from this new government, he said, “It seems that Modi is fond of wearing different kinds of caps. So I want to see him in a fishnet cap. I also want to see proper Muslims. I want the hate to stop spreading. I want to see more women in Parliament. Modi has a lot of ego, he will never accept that if he has done something wrong, he should wear a fishnet cap as a gesture.”

“When some clerics gave him a net cap at an event, he refused to wear it. It is very difficult to forget this. If Modi had worn that cap, he would have been able to explain to Muslims that we are not different. If they wear the net cap, it means they are also citizens of this country, Muslims. He could have made it clear that he does not hate them,” Naseeruddin Shah said.
