Local people opposed it and said that the mosque is 25 years old. People from the Muslim community said that at the time the mosque was built, the number of people in the community was small. As the population grew and the number of worshipers increased, a second floor of the mosque was built.
When the BMC team arrived to demolish the illegal part of the mosque, the people of the society raised an uproar in protest. When the situation became tense, people associated with the mosque management spoke to the BMC officials, they asked for four to five days to remove the encroached portion, to which the officials agreed.

Because of this, 6 months ago, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation sent notices to all the religious places of the city responsible for demolishing this illegal construction. But it was ignored which led to this action last night.

On the other hand, a large number of police personnel were also deployed by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to complete the operation.
