MP: Robbery on loan repayment bus, boarded as passenger and robbed passengers at gunpoint

In Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district on Friday, two masked men boarded a private bus and robbed several passengers at gunpoint. However, he was arrested within a few hours. Police said that during the investigation, it was found that the duo carried out the incident to repay the loan. According to the passengers, when they objected to the robbery, the accused fired in the air.

Superintendent of Police Agam Jain said two people on a motorcycle signaled the driver to stop the bus at the Patharia intersection, about eight kilometers from the district headquarters. After this, both boarded the bus and ran away after snatching money, mangalsutra and mobile phone from the woman from the conductor.

He said that the accused Rahul Tiwari (20) and Rajendra Patel (18), both residents of Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, were arrested within hours. A case was registered against him under robbery and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). The SP said that the duo told the police that they had committed the crime to repay a loan taken to buy a motorcycle.

Talking about the incident, bus driver Kishori Kushwaha said that after waving to two people on the road, I stopped the bus thinking that both of them wanted to board it. Around 20 people were already on board the bus. The bus was going from Chhatarpur to Satna district. After some time, one of them pulled out a gun and threatened the passengers.

They stole jewelery and cash from women sitting in the front row. When these women protested, firing was fired in the air. Harendra Mishra, who was traveling in the bus, said that while we were traveling in the bus, two people stopped the bus on Patharia Charrasta. Soon after boarding the bus, they started robbing the passengers.

Aarti Ahirwar, the victim of the robbery, said that she boarded a bus from Lavakush Nagar in the district to Rajnagar along with her family members. He said that the robbers took away my mangalsutra and my child’s gold locket and 18 thousand rupees from my husband.
