Gram flour ladles of Mahakaleshwar temple
Sri Mahakaleshwar Temple is located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Lakhs of devotees from all corners of the country come here every day to have darshan of Baba Mahakal. During this time, devotees also take Prasad of gram flour laddu with them. This prasad is prepared for the devotees by the Shree Mahakaleshwar Management Committee.
Dr Piyush Tripathi, Assistant Administrator of Sri Mahakaleshwar Management Committee said that this prasad offered to Baba Mahakal is made with complete purity. Gram flour laddus are manufactured in a unit located near Chintaman, Ujjain. 25 to 30 quintals of ladoo prasad is made daily at this unit, while around 50 to 60 quintals of ladoo prasad is made on special festivals.
Around 60 people work in this unit, who take special care to ensure that there are no impurities while preparing the prasad. All employees are made to wash their hands before making Prasad. A cap is put on his head and then the preparation of Prasad begins. Chickpea dal is bought for chickpea flour. Gram flour is made by grinding these pulses on a grinder.
The first test is done in the laboratory
The dry fruits added while making the laddus are also first checked in the laboratory whether they are okay or not. After that it is mixed in prasad. According to the Sri Mahakaleshwar Prabandhan Samiti, this prasad is so pure that the Sri Mahakaleshwar Prabandhan Samiti has received the Samat Bhog Award as well as a five star rating for this prasad.

Devotees who come to have darshan of Baba Mahakal are given prasad of ladoo according to their convenience. 25 to 30 quintals of laddus are consumed daily in the Mahakaleshwar temple. Devotees who come from far and wide to have darshan of Baba Mahakal buy this prasad in packets of 100 gm, 200 gm, 500 gm and 1 kg from the counter set up in the temple. Sri Mahakaleshwar Prabandhan Samiti makes this prasad available to the devotees at a price of Rs 400 per kg.
