A retired Dalit disabled man was beaten up by a retired officer for allegedly urinating in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda area. Not only this, the accused also removed the victim’s shirt and cleaned the drain. When the CCTV footage of the incident came to light, the police registered a case against the accused retired officer and arrested him. The victim is a disabled minor aged 17 years. The incident took place around 10 am on Thursday.
The video of the incident is going viral on social media, in which the retired officer is seen beating the victim and cleaning the drain. The victim says he urinated in a drain the size of a car. At the same time, the accused beat him up a lot after accusing him of urinating on the car. The accused is retired from Income Tax Department.
Beaten badly for peeing
The case is of Vivekananda Complex located in Harda Nagar. A 17-year-old Dalit youth was passing by. He is also disabled. He stopped there and urinated. A retired officer of the Income Tax Department living in this premises is D.P. Oja caught this. He was beaten up after being accused of urinating on a car. The accused beat up the youth and removed his shirt and made him clean the drain. It is alleged that the retired officer used caste-based slurs on the youth.
The police arrested the accused retired officer
The youth was injured due to the beating. He left there. He lodged a complaint against the accused in Harda police station. The incident was recorded in the CCTV camera installed there, the footage of which went viral on social media. The police have registered a case against the accused and arrested him. A police official said that the incident took place on Thursday. The retired officer reprimanded the minor for urinating on his car. When he denied the allegation as false, the accused beat him up. The accused also forced the boy to clean the drain with his shirt, the police officer said.
