The lowest wave will be on Wednesday, August 21 at 12.57 pm. The municipality has informed that waves of 4.81 metres, 4.69 metres and 4.72 metres will rise on Thursday, June 6.

94 lifeguards deployed

To provide backup to the life guards, flood response teams of the fire brigade will be kept ready at Gowalia Tank Fire Station, Bandra Fire Station, Kurla Fire Station, Malad Fire Station, Dahisar Fire Station and Gorai Fire Station. The help of this team will be taken on the spot. 94 life guards of ‘Drishti Life Saving’ have been deployed by the fire brigade to protect the six chowpatties. These life guards will perform their duty under the supervision of the fire brigade. The municipal administration has decided to deploy life guards in two shifts from 7 am to 7 pm to prevent any accident on the beaches and to rescue any person who gets swept away in the water.
