The mission season is about to begin

There is an old saying in India that “water changes every mile, speech changes every four miles.” This saying not only shows the diversity of the country but also gives insight into the different climates of the country. India has to deal with natural disasters ranging from avalanches or landslides on snow-capped mountains to floods from swollen rivers and droughts or tsunamis. In such a situation, the government is now going to initiate a ‘Mausam Mission’.

Under the ‘Mission Mausam’, the government will work to improve weather forecasting through the use of technology. This will be a large-scale initiative, which will make full use of the capabilities of climate change science.

A budget of Rs 2,000 crore has been maintained.

The government has kept a budget of Rs 2,000 crore for the ‘Mausam Mission’. The main aim of this mission is to improve the Indian Meteorological Department so that accurate weather predictions can be made in the country. Not only this, it will also help the government prepare before the disaster and make life smoother as soon as possible.
