Rajasthan Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore addressed the Army Sports Conclave in Delhi. Meanwhile, he said, when the Indian Army took the Olympics as a mission, it yielded great results for India. He said that if the army is given statehood, the army will be the foremost in terms of medals won in the states since independence.
Sports, fitness, competition are daily activities. Indian Army is ready to hoist the tricolor to win medals not only for the army but also for the country. Medals are not won by resources, the most important thing to win medals is courage, willpower and not giving up. He further said that these things are basic in the army.
Preparing for the 2036 Olympics
Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said, preparation for 2036 is a special topic, I am sure that these games will be held in India. When the competition is held here in 2036, we should not only host it but also make India proud by winning more medals in the world. Referring to China, he said that while China also prepared, it spent 20 years to bring about a major change.
Importance of Khelo India
Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that like American colleges, India also started Khelo India to prepare students for sports. Where 11-12 students are getting a great platform to play. The athletes are being given a great platform and the target is the Olympic podium.
The minister said, when it comes to players, we have only heard of platforms like Khelo India. We used to hear that the reason the players are so good in America is because there are college sports. People from all over the world want to go to those colleges and then play for the American team. That said, America’s colleges are embracing sports and giving players time to prepare. Similarly in India too there is Khelo India. Khelo India was launched in the year 2017-2018 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The objective of starting this program was to increase sports in India and prepare players from the college level itself.
