Water tank broke in Mathura

A horrible accident took place on Sunday in Mathura, the city of Lord Krishna. A water tank built in Krishna Vihar Colony collapsed due to heavy rain around 6 pm. Six people were seriously injured in this accident. A woman is also said to have died, although this has yet to be officially confirmed. Now DM Shailendra Kumar Singh, SP and Municipal Corporation officials have reached the spot. NDRF teams along with fire brigade and army are deployed for rescue operations.

With the help of JCB, the debris removal operation has been started. According to local people, the accident happened suddenly. Due to which no one even got a chance to defend himself. Suddenly the tank began to sink and in no time the entire complex was reduced to rubble. It is being said that a 30-year-old woman was also caught in the same debris, due to which she died. However, its official confirmation is still pending.

This tank was built four years ago

According to DM Shailendra Kumar Singh, apart from the four members of the family, two others were injured. He has been admitted to hospital for treatment. He said that an inquiry into the causes of the incident has been ordered. Now the entire focus is on rescue work. NDRF and Army teams have been deployed for this. According to the information, the municipality built this tank about four years ago. The total capacity of this tank is about two and a half thousand kilo liters.

At the time of the accident, stone fragments flew into the air from this densely populated tank. This caused damage to nearby houses and injured people living in them, according to the DM, adding that no one was trapped in the debris. However, relief teams are conducting search operations. According to Mathura Mayor Vinod Aggarwal, this is definitely a case of negligence on the part of the Municipal Corporation. An inquiry will be conducted and action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
