Rude remarks of Indradev Maharaj

When is a person given the title of saint? When they give up attachment to the poor world and attain knowledge beyond this world. Along with this, there is another criterion for being a saint and that is character and decorum of words. What you say to someone is more important when you are in a position, so, after taking a position, you should be more careful so that you don’t say something that you will regret later.

For the last few days in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, saints or narrators who sit on the pulpit and narrate stories have been making such statements, which is causing controversy. Earlier there was a huge controversy over the statement made by narrator Pradeep Mishra regarding Radharani, after which he had to apologize and now Saint Mahamandaleshwar Indradev Maharaj who resides in Sri Radha Kishori Dham, Parikrama Marg, Vrindavan has also given a similar statement. The people who played the roles of Mother Sita and Lord Ram in Ramleela are being criticized from all around.

What was Indradev Maharaj’s statement?

A video of Indradev Maharaj is going viral on social media in which he has said that the characters playing Ramleela are consuming cigarettes, alcohol etc. behind the stage. He said we have all seen this. In his statement, he further said that orange is coming out of the blouse of the character of Mata Sita. After this statement given about the actors playing the role of Mother Sita, people are seeing a lot of anger. After this the video started going viral on social media and there was a lot of anger among Sant Samaj and Brijvasi people.

Apologized after protests

After this video went viral, Indradev Maharaj’s reply came out on Friday morning in which he apologized for his statement. Indradev Maharaj said that he definitely made this statement but his sentiments were different from everyone else’s. Maharaj said that what I said was not meant to hurt the faith of any God or any person. Everything I saw, I saw as a child and that’s what I was telling people in the pulpit. I apologize if what I said caused any trouble or made people feel bad.
