Journey of Mother Vaishno Devi
The Sri Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu’s Katra on Monday caused panic among the devotees when it was discovered that there was a landslide on the track built on Panchi Marg. Two women devotees died in this accident. Some devotees are injured. However, the enthusiasm of the devotees of the mother has not waned and the yatra continues on the old track. 40 to 50 thousand devotees visit Mata Vaishnodevi every day in this season. If you also want to go to Mata Vaishno Devi from Delhi or any nearby area, you will have to spend only 1500 rupees from your pocket in which you can complete the entire journey and return.
To visit Vaishnodevi on such a low budget, you have to plan a few days in advance. So you can easily book everything. In such a situation, you have to book the railway ticket first. If you book a sleeper class train ticket to Katra, you will get a ticket between Rs 340 to Rs 370. Yes, your return and return ticket both ways will cost around Rs. 700 to Rs. 750 will be spent.
Accommodation and locker facilities
You can easily reach Katra with the help of Indian Railways. After this you have to go to the website maavaishnodevi.org and book your stay at the Shrine Board’s Dharamshala. If you are making a normal booking and taking only a bed in the dormitory, you will have to spend only Rs 150. You will find this facility both in Jammu and Katra. You can book wherever you want to stay. In this you will get a normal bed along with a blanket and a locker. You can keep all your luggage in the locker.
What arrangement to eat?
Dharamshala also has inside and outside food facilities. There are also good food and beverage facilities near the building. You will get a full meal of pure vegetarian sattvic food at these places from the board for just 80-100 rupees. If you eat around three times during the entire journey, it will cost only Rs 300. Here you will find Dharamshalas named Shakti Bhavan, Trikuta Bhavan and Aswarwad Bhavan. It is few minutes away from Katra railway station.
What is the schedule?
If you want to complete Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra in just two days then you don’t need to take separate leave for this. You can complete the entire journey and return at the end of the week itself. So you can take Friday evening train to Katra. After this, reach there on Saturday morning. After this, start the journey in the afternoon, if everything goes according to plan, you can complete your journey by Sunday morning. If not on Sunday afternoon, you can catch the evening train back to Delhi and join the office comfortably on Monday morning.
