Asha, younger sister of Lata Mangeshkar and daughter of Dinanath Mangeshkar, has sung about 16 thousand film and non-film songs. Asha has a fan following not only in India but all over the world. However, Asha’s personal life has not been as successful as her career.
Asha fell in love with the wrong person, it affected her life in a way that no one expected. Becoming a singer was not only Asha’s dream but also a necessity after losing her father, but during this difficult time she took a step that changed her entire life. There was so much love between the two that at the age of 16, i.e. in 1949, she got married to Ganpatrao. At that time Ganpatrao was 31 years old.
Both got separated after 11 years of marriage
The entire Mangeshkar family was against this decision of Asha but still she married Ganpatrao. His sister Lata Mangeshkar was so enraged by this that she did not speak to him for years and severed all ties. Ganapatrao’s family also never accepted Asha. Both had three children. 2 sons and a daughter. However, after 11 years of marriage i.e. in 1960, both got separated. It is said that he was also beaten in his in-laws’ house. In such a situation, one day her in-laws threw her out of the house along with the children. Asha was pregnant when her in-laws threw her out of the house, so she came to her maternal uncle’s house with her two children. After this hope was completely shattered. In this situation, he focused on his career and sang many superhit songs.
Divorced after 14 years of marriage
During a song from Asha’s 1966 film Teesri Manzil, R.D. Met Burman. Both of them became good friends as they worked continuously and never knew when this friendship turned into love. RD One day when he got a chance, Burman proposed marriage to Asha. Asha immediately agreed to this, but Burman’s mother categorically refused the marriage. He told the barman that if this marriage takes place, it will take place over his dead body. Burman’s mother was refusing the marriage as Asha was 6 years older than Burman and she was a mother of 3 children.
In such a situation Barman listened to his mother and accepted her word. However, when Burman’s father S.D. When Burman died, the mother’s mental state deteriorated. Burman married Asha Bhonsle in 1980 to improve his mother’s condition. After 14 years of marriage, Burman suffered a heart attack in 1994 and bid farewell to this world. This was also Burman’s second marriage with Asha.
The struggle has been going on since the beginning
Asha Bhosale was born on 08 September 1933 in a Marathi family in ‘Sangli’ district of Maharashtra. He has bravely faced struggles since his childhood. Her father died when Asha was 9 years old. In such a situation, the condition of the house became so bad that he started working at an early age. Her elder sister Lata had already made a name for herself when she entered the industry. In such a situation, there was pressure on her to become Lata Mangeshkar’s sister. However, through hard work, he made his mark in the industry.
Daughter committed suicide
Asha’s elder son was named Hemant, second was Anand and daughter was Varsha. Varsha was married to sports writer Hemant Kenkare, but the two divorced in 1998. After this Varsha started living with her mother Asha. Varsha committed suicide at the age of 56 in October 2012. After this, in 2015, at the age of 66, his son Hemant also died of cancer. Asha Bhosale is currently doing restaurant business along with singing. It has more than a dozen restaurants worldwide. The first one was opened in Dubai – Ashaz Restaurant. After this they have also opened in Kuwait and Manchester.
