After the rape and murder of a woman doctor in Kolkata, public anger has erupted. Doctors across the country are expressing their displeasure. Amidst all this, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad was seen attacking Mamata Banerjee. He raised questions in a press conference on Monday and said, Mamataji, what is happening in Bengal under your rule? A woman doctor was raped, this was barbarism. Today, doctors across the country are on strike. We in your government already know how the opposition fares during elections. What is happening in Bengal is the horrible truth of government terror.

In fact, a trainee female doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College was found dead on Friday morning. Mahila was a second year PG student in a medical college. The postmortem report revealed that the victim doctor was raped and after the rape the accused killed her.

Mamata Banerjee’s statement has come out

Amidst all this, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement has come out. He said that the police should arrest the accused at the earliest. If the police cannot nab the accused by Sunday, the case will be handed over to the CBI. Also the resident doctor’s outrage and demands are justified.

Protests are taking place across the country

There are continuous protests in the country. Doctors from Delhi to Kolkata are on the road. Doctors of Delhi AIIMS have also started protest. The doctor has also blocked the way out of AIIMS. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Delhi DCP North Abhishek Gupta said that for security reasons, the names of all the people coming to the hospital will now be recorded in the register. Apart from AIIMS, resident doctors in hospitals like RML, Safdarjung, Lady Hardinge are protesting. This protest will directly affect the patients coming to the OPD. From today all resident doctors will not work in any department except emergency.

Formation of a seven-member team for investigation

According to Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal, a 7-member SIT has been constituted. Also family and resident doctors are welcome if they have any demand. Goyal said that the accused should be punished severely. A case of rape and murder has been registered based on the post-mortem report.
