Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority i.e. MahaRERA has given a big blow to the builders of the state including Pune, Mumbai. Action has been started against those who do not follow the rules made by MahaRERA. MahaRERA has canceled the registration of 1,137 projects. Also, work on 1750 projects has stopped. Mumbai has the highest number of 761 projects. Apart from this, there are 628 projects in Pune. There are 135 projects in North Maharashtra, 110 in Vidarbha, 100 in Marathwada, 13 in Dadra Nagar Haveli and 3 in Daman. MahaRERA has taken action against developers who do not follow the rules.

Those developers are banned from advertising

MahaRERA has also advised home buyers to be cautious. MahaRERA advises to invest only in those projects which are registered with MahaRERA. Also, while registering developers with MahaRERA, when will the project be completed? Information about this has been given and it has been advised to complete the project according to that date. Projects which have been completed will get occupancy certificate from MahaRERA. Builders on incomplete projects will neither have to register their project nor get it registered again. Also, if the builders do not take any steps as per the instructions of MahaRERA, then their bank accounts will be frozen. They will be stopped from selling the flat. Its advertisement will also be banned.

MahaRERA has issued notices to 6638 projects

MahaRERA had issued show cause notices to 6638 projects. Occupancy certificates were issued to 3751 projects. Out of the remaining 2,887 schemes, registration of 1,750 schemes has been stopped while registration of 1,137 projects has been cancelled. This includes 115 projects in 48 Mumbai suburbs of Mumbai city, 216 in Palghar and 182 in Thane division.

What is the rule of MahaRERA?

Action has been taken against projects in Pune, Mumbai, Marathwada, North Maharashtra, information of which has not been received by MahaRERA. It is necessary to upload all the information on the website within three months of registration of the projects. But that information has not been uploaded.
