Maharashtra weather update: Heavy rains on Konkan coast, IMD alert for ‘these’ 5 districts of the state

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain to 5 districts of the state today. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there will be heavy rain in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Satara of the state. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rain in Konkan. Meanwhile, heavy rains have started in Sindhudurg district since this morning. Kankavali, Kudal, Sawantwadi and other areas are also receiving rain. Due to intermittent rains, there is no incident of waterlogging anywhere. However, an orange alert for rain has been issued in Sindhudurg district today. This is likely to increase the intensity of rain. It has been observed after the full moon that there has been an increase in coastal areas. Three and a half meter high waves are rising in the Konkan coastal area and the sea has turned red. Coastal areas are battling waves and 77 mm of rain has been recorded in the last 24 hours.
