Maharashtra: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar attacked the opposition during a rally on Thursday. He said that the state government is committed to the welfare of the poor. But people born with a silver spoon in their mouth will not understand the plight of the deprived sections of the society. At the same time, he urged people not to fall prey to the opposition’s ‘fake campaigns’.

Ajit Pawar said this while addressing a rally during his ‘Jan Samman Yatra’. He appealed to the people not to fall victim to the ‘fake campaigns’ of the opposition. Government schemes for youth, women, Varakaris (followers of Lord Vithoba) and others are also mentioned.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president mentioned the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme. And said, ‘We have deposited 3000 rupees in the account of eligible women.’ The scheme provides monthly assistance of Rs 1,500 to married, divorced and destitute women aged 21-60 years with annual income up to Rs 2.50 lakh.

He said that the opposition is calling the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme as an election slogan, but it is a fake campaign. Ajit Pawar assured that no one will take money back from anyone. He said, ‘Opposition is trying to derail the plans. People born with a silver spoon in their mouth will not understand the plight of the poor.

‘These schemes can work only when…,’

Ajit Pawar said that the government is providing three free LPG cylinders every year to 52 lakh families across the state. Besides, it also carries the education fees of girls and women in the state. Rejecting claims that these schemes are worsening the state’s finances, Pawar said Maharashtra’s revenue collection has been good.

He said, ‘The state needs Rs 75,000 crore for these schemes. We have money, so we are implementing these plans. Pawar said that these plans can be implemented only if the grand alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), NCP and Shiv Sena under the leadership of Eknath Shinde comes back to power.

We have also spoken to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan regarding sugarcane, onion, soybean and milk. The NCP chief also promised strict action in case of the fall of the statue of Shivaji Maharaj installed in the fort of Rajkot in Malvan taluk of Sindhudurg district.
