A woman’s father-in-law and brother-in-law were arrested on Sunday for raping her in Kalyan in Maharashtra’s Thane district. It is being told that the 27-year-old victim worked in a brick kiln. According to Murbad sub-divisional police officer Jagdish Shinde, on September 6, a father, son and a minor barged into a woman’s hut and raped her.
The police officer said that the accused victim’s father-in-law is 50 years old and sister-in-law is 22 years old. One accused is a minor who has been detained. The victim’s husband has also been detained in this case. After the gang-rape, the victim was seriously injured and has been admitted to the Thane Civil Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

During the rape, the victim was also beaten and fatally attacked with a sickle, the officer said. In which the victim was seriously injured. When the woman told her husband about this brutality, instead of supporting her, he brutally beat her. After the rape incident, all the accused absconded.

After receiving information about the incident, the police started searching for the accused, after which all the accused were arrested and sent to jail on Sunday. A case of gang rape and grievous bodily harm has been registered against him under the Indian Penal Code. Thane Rural Superintendent of Police DS Swamy is personally supervising the investigation into the incident.
When the government-appointed committee on tribal welfare reported the incident, committee chairman Vivek Pandit also reached the hospital to meet the victim, where he inquired about the victim’s condition. Currently, the condition of the victim is said to be critical.
