16 districts affected by floods in UP

16 districts of Uttar Pradesh are in the grip of floods. Many districts of the state are inundated due to the release of water from Nepal. Due to heavy rain here some areas are flooded. Lucknow-Delhi highway has been closed due to floods. In the last 24 hours, 11 people lost their lives due to drowning and electrocution in the flood affected areas.

People living in flood affected areas are facing great difficulties. People are also having to work hard to buy things related to their daily needs. Houses, schools, hospitals are flooded, roads are jammed. Vehicular movement is affected. People are also seeing the shadow of a snake due to the accumulation of flood water. Many such creatures that live in their burrows are now pushed out by the flood.

Schools closed

The District Magistrate in Hardoi has ordered closure of more than 80 schools till July 18 due to floods inundating the state. Hundreds of villages are flooded with rain water. People are facing difficulties.

Which districts are affected?

A total of 16 districts in UP are affected by floods. These flood affected districts include Lakhimpur, Gonda, Balrampur, Kushinagar, Shahjahanpur, Ballia, Basti, Siddharthnagar, Barabanki, Sitapur, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Azamgarh, Hardoi, Ayodhya, Moradabad, Bahraich. 15 battalions of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed for relief and rescue in flood affected areas. Apart from this, 28 battalions of UP PAC have also been deployed. However, flood waters have also started receding in some districts. But rivers like Rapti, Sarayu, Gandak, Ramganga and Ghaghra are still flowing above the danger mark.
