Kolkata Rape Case: Abhijit Mandal, Sandeep Ghosh and Sanjay Roy.
Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, and Abhijit Mandal, former OC of Tala, have been produced in the Sealdah court in the Kolkata rape and murder case. During the hearing in the court, the CBI had to face the questions of the judge. The court asked the CBI whether Sandeep Ghosh had prior knowledge of the rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College. In reply to the judge’s question, the CBI said that we do not want to rule out that fear yet. Let us tell you that CBI is investigating a major conspiracy in the Kolkata rape and murder case. A second status report was presented by the CBI in the Sealdah court on Friday.
Let us tell you that on August 9, a dead body of a female doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata. A post mortem report later confirmed rape and murder. However, the OC of the police station is accused of delaying the filing of the FIR in the case. Everyone from the junior doctor to the parents of the deceased is alleging manipulation of facts and conspiracy.
Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, and Abhijeet Mandal, then OC of Tala police station, were produced in the Sealdah court on Friday after three days in CBI custody. In the hearing, many questions were raised regarding the RG Tax case and the involvement of the accused in it.

No consensus has been reached on polygraph or narco tests
On Friday, the CBI filed a petition in the court seeking a polygraph test of Abhijit Mandal in the RG tax case. The CBI told the court that the CCTV footage of Tala police station has been examined. It was found that on the day of the incident i.e. 9 August at 10 am, Abhijeet Mandal was not in the police station. Where it is being investigated. Referring to Abhijeet’s polygraph test, the judge said, “It depends on whether one agrees with the polygraph or not.” However, both the accused did not consent. Now the decision regarding this will be taken in the next hearing.
So far 3 arrested in rape case
Three people have been arrested so far in the RG car rape-murder case. Sanjay Roy, a civilian volunteer of the Kolkata Police, was arrested immediately after the incident. He is allegedly directly involved in the rape-murder incident. Later, the CBI took over the investigation of the case and arrested Sandeep Ghosh and Abhijit Mandal. The CBI arrested the former OC of Tala police station on charges of disappearance of evidence and late filing of FIR in the rape-murder incident.
Accused of destroying evidence Ex O.C
On Friday, the judge asked the CBI if there was any credible information about destruction of evidence against Abhijit Mandal. In Friday’s hearing, the judge asked the CBI counsel, “Is there any information that the accused had prior knowledge of the incident?” The CBI said that the investigation is on. But no fear can be ruled out. They are not cooperating. So we are applying for various tests.
Abhijit and Sandeep will be interrogated together.
The court asked the CBI whether you have received any such information in the last 3 days. Where were they at the time of the incident? On that, the CBI lawyer said that there are some things which they are not clarifying. are connected to a larger conspiracy. So, they are applying for polygraph test of Abhijit Mandal and narco test of Sandeep Ghosh. The CBI said they knew each other. The OC’s words do not match what other policemen say or say. So this can be known through cross interrogation. He should be interrogated in person.
CBI remand of Sandeep-Abhijeet till September 25
The CBI requested to take Sandeep Ghosh into its custody for the next five days for investigation. The judge accepted that request. The Sealdah court ordered Sandeep Ghosh to be kept in CBI remand till September 25. CBI officials say that during remand, CBI officials will be questioned on other aspects of the conspiracy, from destruction of evidence.
