CM Dhami paid tribute to the martyrs of Kargil

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the martyrs at the Martyr’s Memorial in a program organized on Kargil Vijay Divas (Valor Day). Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also honored the families of Kargil martyrs and made 4 announcements. The Chief Minister said that our brave soldiers had shown bravery and indomitable courage to protect Mother India in the Kargil War. On this occasion, Soldier Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi, Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal, MLA Savita Kapoor, Brij Bhushan Gerola and outgoing Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama also paid tribute to the martyrs of Kargil at the Martyr’s Memorial.

He said that the bravery shown by the Indian soldiers in the Kargil war in the face of adversity and repelling the infiltrators from across the border made the whole world recognize the bravery of the Indian Army. The country will always remember the sacrifices of the brave soldiers to protect the country’s borders in the Kargil War.

CM Dhami made four announcements

Chief Minister Dhami has announced that the amount of ex-gratia grant given in the name of martyred soldiers in the state will be increased from 10 lakh rupees to 50 lakh rupees. The period for applying for government jobs for family members of martyred jawans will be increased from 2 years to 5 years. Dependents of martyrs will now be appointed to Group C and Group D posts in District Magistrate offices and Group C and Group D posts in other departments. Contract employees working in the Soldier Welfare Department will be given leave like Subnal employees.

The sacrifice of sons will be remembered

The Chief Minister said that even this victory saga of Kargil is incomplete without the heroes of Uttarakhand and this brave land will never forget the sacrifice of its 75 sons. The cultural environment and ideas that have nurtured us all hold the belief that patriotism is the best of all forms of devotion. The Chief Minister said that being the son of a soldier, he has seen the struggle of a soldier and his family since his childhood. He said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister during the Kargil war. We won the war and also won diplomacy on a global scale. Atalji arranged for the martyrs to be cremated with state honors in their native villages.

PM boosted morale of jawans

CM Dhami said that the Prime Minister is constantly increasing the courage and morale of the soldiers and this is the reason why the army is responding to the bullets with shells today. Today also the Prime Minister paid tribute to the martyrs at Kargil War Memorial, Ladakh on the occasion of Kargil Victory Day. The Chief Minister said that there will be a provision of reservation in government services for firefighters in the state, a law will be brought for this.

On this occasion, Minister for Soldier Welfare Ganesh Joshi said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is committed to the welfare of ex-servicemen and dependents of martyred soldiers. A family member of a martyred soldier is given a job by the government as per his qualification. So far 26 dependents have been employed. The Uttarakhand government has increased the amount given to soldiers awarded with the state’s Shaurya Medal. A state-of-the-art Shaurya Sthal (Lashkari Dham) with all facilities is being constructed in Gunialgaon, Dehradun in memory of the martyrs of the state, in which the names of all the martyrs of the state will be inscribed. He said that another office of Sainik Kalyan is being opened in Harbatpur.

Army Welfare Secretary Dipendra Chaudhary, Major General Sammi Sabharwal (Retd), Lt General Ashwani Kumar (Retd), Major General KS Rana (Retd), Brigadier Kirti Bahl (Retd), Brig Harish Sethi (Retd), Soldier Welfare Brig Amrit Lal ( Retd.), MD Upnal Brig J.S. Bisht (retd), District Magistrate Dehradun Sonika, SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh and other army officers, ex-servicemen and families of martyrs were present.
