Vasan Bala said in an interview that when he was discussing the film with Karan Johar, he did not consider Alia Bhatt to be a part of the film. I wrote a very ‘raw’ email with my thoughts on whatever I had in mind for the film. Then after writing for 6-7 hours I sent it to Karan. After this Karan called me and I asked Karan, did you read it? Then Karan says I have already sent Aaliya. “I wasn’t happy about it though.”
