Accident in Kanpur
A major accident took place in Kanpur last night. Here an uncontrolled truck broke the wall from the service line of Delhi Highway and fell on the track of Kanpur Jhansi railway route. After this, more than eight trains going from Kanpur to Jhansi had to be stopped. The truck driver died in the accident. After a lot of effort, the body of the driver could be removed from the truck damaged in this horrific accident. Regarding the accident, railway officials said that fortunately no train was passing at the time of the track collapse and a more serious accident could have occurred.
After the arrival of the rescue train of the railway officials, the jawans tried for 3 hours. After this, the railway line disrupted due to the accident was cleared. After the accident, the force of 10 police stations of Kanpur also reached the spot. Eyewitnesses present at the spot said that suddenly the truck coming from Delhi towards Kanpur went out of control and first climbed the divider, then came in the other direction, broke the wall and fell on the railway tracks. It fell from a height of 40 feet on the railway track and caused a huge explosion.
The railway track was disrupted
Everyone was stunned to hear the explosion. Kanpur Central Chief Manager Ashutosh Singh reached the spot as soon as he got the information about the railway track disruption. After reaching the spot, Ashutosh Singh said that the accident was very horrific, although a bigger tragedy could have happened, which was averted for now. Due to the accident, operations were carried out to remove the wreckage of the truck so that the affected trains could be resumed. Many trains were affected. Finally, around 3 am, all the debris was removed from the railway track and it was restored.
Cleared the track by removing the debris
The Chief Manager further said that the track on which the accident took place was a very busy track due to which more than 600 meters of OHE line was broken. The line is reconnected. The operation of trains on the route has started. Trains will start operating from the down track soon. Giving information, he said that shortly after the accident, the Chitrakoot Express was about to depart from Govindpuri station, but it was stopped at the station as soon as the information about the accident was received. On receiving the information, DCP West of Kanpur Police Commissionerate, ACP Panki, forces from several police stations, Deputy CTM of Kanpur Central and other officials reached the spot. At present, the debris has been removed and the track has been cleared.
