Love stories of Meena Kumari and Kamal Amrohi have been written and read for years. But now it has been decided to show the story of these two on the big screen. Hindi cinema’s tragedy queen Meena Kumari and director and screenwriter Kamal Amrohi are going to make a biopic. Kamal Amrohi’s grandson Bilal Amrohi is making his biopic along with Saregama and a few others. An advertisement teaser of the film has also been released.
The video released for the announcement of the film has some old pictures of Meena and Kamal. Some letters written in Urdu are also shown. The music in the background of the video has some dialogues which are probably in the voices of Meena and Kamal. It is being said, “My Adeeb, My Mirshah, My Prince, My Rubai, My Chandan Pyare, My Manju.” At the end of the video, the song ‘Chalete Chalte’ from Meena Kumari’s film Pakija plays.

Information about the star cast of the film has not been given. But the makers have roped in many veteran actors for this film. AR Rahman is giving music in the film. Apart from him, lyricists and screenwriters like Bhavani Iyer, Irshad Kamil and Kausar Munir are associated with the film. Bilal Amrohi is producing the film along with Saregama and Rohandeep Singh. The film is being directed by Maharaj director Siddharth P Malhotra. The advertisement teaser says that the film will release next year.
Demand to take Shraddha
As soon as the film is announced on social media. Fans started advocating Shraddha’s name for Meena Kumari’s role. One fan wrote, “Shraddha Kapoor would be perfect in this role.” “We love faith,” wrote one. Another wrote, “Shraddha Kapoor would be the best choice for this role.” One person advocated Varun Dhawan for the role of Kamal Amrohi, but also named Shraddha Kapoor for the actress. The entire comment box is filled with Shraddha’s name. However, it is said that the makers are still casting. No information about the hero or heroine has been given.

Love story of Meena and Kamal
Meena Kumari secretly married Kamal Amrohi on 14 February 1952. Meena’s real name was Mahjabi Bano. At the age of 18, Meena met Kamal for the first time. Kamal was 34 years old at that time. However, soon after the marriage, differences between the two started and it reached the level that Meena started living apart from Kamal. It is said that Meena never went to Kamal Amrohi again until her last breath. Meena Kumari died on 31 March 1972 due to liver disease.
