Kalki OTT Release News: Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kalki 2898 AD took the theaters by storm and broke all the records. The film was released on the big screen on 27 July. Even after almost a month and a half it is showing in many theaters. The film shocked everyone by easily crossing the magical mark of Rs 1100 crore worldwide. Now we are eagerly waiting for the OTT release of this film which did wonders in the theatres. But those who want to watch it on OTT are in for a shock.
Many reports are saying that Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD will release on OTT platform Prime Video this month i.e. on 23 August. Fans were very excited with the news that the film will release on OTT this month. But now a big problem seems to be stuck in it. 123Telugu has stated in its report that Kalki released on OTT will be 6 minutes shorter than the theatrical release. Reports say that a trimmed version of Kalki will be released on OTT. However, nothing has been officially said about this yet. But such a debate has already begun.
How much were Kalki OTT rights sold for?
Prime Video has the OTT rights of the South Indian language versions of Kalki, namely Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It is being said that Prime will release Kalki on August 23. Netflix holds the OTT rights of the Hindi version of the film. But the information about when the Hindi version will be released has not been announced yet. Netflix bought the rights of this film for around Rs 175 crore and Prime Video bought the rights of this film for Rs 200 crore. That is, the makers of Kalki earned Rs 375 crore just by selling the OTT rights.

After the huge success of the first part of Kalki, people are waiting for the release of its second part. However, Prabhas has many projects lined up in the coming days. But the remaining 40 percent is very important. Some time ago, during a discussion with Prabhas on Instagram Live, Nag Ashwin said that the second part of the film will take three years. In such a situation, it is clear that the fans of Kalki and Prabhas might have to wait a long time for the second part.
Kalki was produced by Vaijayanti Movies. Santhosh Narayan has composed the music for this. Apart from Prabhas, Deepika, Kamal and Big B, Disha Patni, Rajendra Prasad, Saswat Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Anna Ben, Shobhana, Mrinal Thakur, Dilkar Salman and Vijay Devarakonda are seen in the film.
