The story of ‘Jigra’ taken from ‘Gumrah’

‘Jigra’ is an action thriller directed by Vasan Bali. The concept of the film is getting a lot of appreciation. Recently, a big revelation related to this film has come out. Quoting a source in Bollywood Hungama, the news has come that the story of Vasan Bali’s film has been taken from Sridevi’s film ‘Gumrah’. Although many changes have been made in the film, the plot of the film remains the same. The 1993 film ‘Gumrah’ starred Sridevi, Sanjay Dutt and Rahul Roy in lead roles.

‘Gumrah’ is made with a love angle. The story is about a boy who loves a girl and for some reason the girl gets imprisoned in a foreign prison. The film later shows how he tries to break her out of jail. For the remake of ‘Gumrah’, the filmmakers have made important changes to its story, the first change being that in ‘Jigra’ the actress is trying to save her brother and the second major change is that this is not a love angle but a brother and sister story. is Alia is seen doing great action in the trailer of the film. Actors like Aditya Nanda, Manoj Pahwa and Rahul Ravindran are also working in the film.

Acquiring the rights of ‘Gumrah’ was not a difficult task for this film made under the banner of Dharma Productions, as Gumrah was also made under the banner of Dharma Productions. ‘Gumrah’ was directed by Alia Bhatt’s father Mahesh Bhatt and now Alia is the lead actress in its remake. The film is being produced by Alia Bhatt and her sister Shaheen Bhatt’s production house Eternal Sunshine Productions.
Earlier the same production house produced Darling. Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ is her only upcoming film this year, which releases on October 11. Currently, Alia is shooting for YRF Spy Universe’s film ‘Alpha’, which will also feature Bobby Deol and Sharwari Wala. Apart from ‘Alpha’, Alia will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’ next year. He will be accompanied by Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the film.
