The National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern. The National Examination Agency has also issued a notification in this regard. The NTA said that the optional question format in Section B of the paper, which was implemented as a relief measure during the Covid-19 pandemic, will now be discontinued. Earlier students were given an option to solve 5 out of 10 numerical questions in Section B of each subject.
It was launched in 2021, effective till 2024. Students will not get this facility in the upcoming exams. Section B of JEE Main 2025 will now have only 5 numerical questions per subject, all of which candidates will have to answer. This was the pattern even before 2021.
JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern: What is the New Exam Pattern?
According to the National Testing Agency, the JEE Main exam paper for engineering courses will have three sections. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The duration of the exam will be 3 hours and a total of 90 questions will be asked, including 30 questions from each section. Section A will have 20 multiple choice questions (MCQ), while Section B will have 10 numerical questions. Under the revised exam pattern, all five questions of Section B will be compulsory. The exam will be of total 300 marks and candidates will get 4 marks for each correct question. 1 mark will be deducted for each answer.
JEE Main 2025 Registration Date: When Will Registration Start?
JEE Main exam is conducted in two sessions every year. NTA will soon issue notification for first division exam and registration process will start. There are total two papers in the exam. The first paper is for B.Tech admission and the second is for B.Arch/B.Planning.
