In Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore, police along with security forces have arrested a terrorist associate. Objectionable IED material, arms and ammunition have been recovered from him. In this matter, the police have registered a case under various sections at Bomai Police Station and are conducting further investigation.

In fact, around 7.40 pm on Sunday, the Sopore Police along with Army (22RR) and CRPF (179BN) laid a blockade in Machipora, Bomai. During the checking, a white Maruti Swift JK01AK-4452 coming from Bomai towards Machhipora was intercepted.

The accused tried to run away

Seeing the blockade, the driver of the vehicle tried to flee from the spot but was nabbed by the security forces. He has been identified as Waheed ul Zahoor son of Zahoor ul Rahim resident of Hadipora, Rafiabad Mustafabad HMT Srinagar.

Arms and ammunition were recovered

During the search, two Turkish pistols, three Turkish pistol magazines, 41 pistol rounds, two Chinese grenades, one Turkish pistol silencer, criminal IED materials and other materials were recovered from the vehicle. In this regard Bomai Police has registered a case under 16, 18, 23, 38 UAP (A) 3, 4, 5 Explosive Substances Act, 7/25 Arms Act and conducted further investigation.
