JAMMU & KASHMIR: Mehbooba Mufti cancels today’s election campaign, protesting Hezbollah chief Nasrallah’s death.

The news of the death of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah sent a wave of sadness and anger across the Axis of Resistance, Iran and supporters of Palestine around the world who took to the streets and mourned Nasrallah’s killing.

Former Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti and senior National Conference leader Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehndi canceled all their election rallies to mourn the killing of the Hezbollah leader. As soon as Hezbollah confirmed the death of Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday evening, people took to the streets in Srinagar and Budgam areas and raised slogans against Israel.

Canceled the meeting and apologized to the people

The election meeting of National Conference MP Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehndi was to be held in Rafiabad. After the news of Nasrallah’s death, Ruhullah canceled the meeting in Rafiabad and apologized to the people.

Ruhullah apologized and said, “Dear brothers of Rafiabad. I was coming to you and wanted to meet you there. Due to a major disaster, I have had to cancel my camping program. I am very sad and please forgive me for not being able to come. I am grateful to all of you for this love. I will come with you soon inshallah.”

Mehbooba called Shaheed

Former Chief Minister of Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has also expressed grief after the death of Nasrallah. He wrote to X canceling his election programme. I am canceling my campaign tomorrow in solidarity with the martyrs of Lebanon and Gaza, especially Hassan Nasrallah. We stand with the people of Palestine and Lebanon in this time of suffering and exemplary resistance.

Apart from this Mehboob Mufti’s daughter Iltija Mufti also reacted like her mother and expressed grief and called Israel a murderer.
