Police has achieved great success against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. On Friday, the police arrested 6 associates of the terrorists along with arms and ammunition. A police spokesperson said that Jaish-e-Mohammed militants are inducing youth to join their outfit. The police received information based on which the arrest was made.
A police spokesperson said that Jaish-e-Mohammed militants are making efforts to identify such youths who may be motivated to join terrorist outfits. According to the police, before being formally inducted, such youths were provided arms, ammunition and explosives to carry out terrorist acts.
Attempts were being made to link the youth with terrorism
The spokesperson said that during the investigation, the youths who were part of this module were identified. It has come to light that the Pakistan-based terrorist had identified many youths with the help of jailed OGWs. These terrorists inspired youths in Awantipora and Tral areas of Kulgam district to join the militant ranks.
These youths were supplied with pistols, grenades, IEDs and other explosives. The spokesperson said that 6 associates of the terrorists have been arrested so far in this case. Also, during this operation, the police have seized many illegal weapons from the associates of the terrorists.
Several illegal weapons were found
A police spokesperson said five IEDs with remote, 30 detonators, 17 batteries for IEDs, two pistols, three pistol magazines, 25 bullets, four hand grenades and Rs 20,000 in cash were recovered from the terrorists’ accomplices. Also, the police have conducted further investigation.
