Security forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir
Militant morale is high in Jammu and Kashmir, but the security forces are constantly breaking their morale. Meanwhile, there was a clash between security forces and terrorists on Sunday as well. This encounter took place in Kishtwar after Anantnag. The soldiers have surrounded the terrorists and continuous firing is going on from both sides. Army, paramilitary forces and police have taken over the position in this area. At the same time, a massive search operation is being conducted around Naunatta.
Meanwhile, two jawans were martyred in an overnight encounter in Kokarnag in Anantnag district, while a local civilian was killed. Havildar Deepak Kumar Yadav and Lance Naik Praveen Sharma were among those killed in the firing by the terrorists. Apart from this, two civilians have also been injured in the firing. One of the injured civilians, Abdul Rasheed Dar, died in hospital on Sunday.
Encounter continues at 10 thousand feet
The Army received information about the presence of terrorists at a height of 10,000 feet in the forest of Anantnag, after which the Army sent additional security forces and launched a search for the terrorists. There are thick bushes, big stones and streams. Due to which the army is facing challenges in operations. A continuous search operation is also underway by cordoning off the area. According to the army, it is believed that the militants entered the Anantnag area from Doda. The situation remains tense. Security forces are searching for terrorists in this area.

After a similar encounter in Kokarnag in September 2023 last year, four army personnel including Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish and Deputy Superintendent of Police Humayun Bhat were martyred. During that encounter, two militants, including a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander, were also killed.
