A bomb threat has been issued to the tomb of famous folk deity Baba Ramdev in Ramdevara Nagar, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. There was an uproar after a threatening letter was found at the ticket window of Pokaran railway station. The police have seized the letter and started investigation. The letter claimed that a horse being carried to the tomb would be bombed and blown up. Police have increased security at the burial site.
The police have conducted an investigation regarding the horse that was brought to the cemetery. Security agencies across the state have been put on alert. These days the folk deity Baba Ramdev fair is going on. In which lakhs of devotees are coming to have darshan at Baba’s Samadhi. After receiving the threatening letter, a sensation has spread in the entire area. CCTV cameras of the area are being verified.
The head constable received a threatening letter
This threatening letter was received by GRP Head Constable of Pokaran railway station on Tuesday. The head constable informed his superior and the police administration about the letter. The letter was written on paper with a ball pen in blue ink. In the letter, it is written about hiding the bomb inside the horse that will be offered to Baba Ramdev. Police said security has been beefed up at the burial site.
A team of ATS and dog squad has conducted an investigation at the spot. The cloth horse provided there is also being checked. The situation is completely under control. Security agencies have been put on high alert. Tight security arrangements have been made in the campus and surrounding areas. All the devotees are being sent inside only after searching.
The temple was evacuated and searched.
As soon as the letter was received, the temple was first evacuated and a thorough search was carried out, a police official said. Even the horse offered in the temple has now been taken out. Besides, ATS and Bomb Disposal Squad were also called to Ramdevra. CCTV footage is being scanned to trace the person who kept the letter. The CCTV footage of the temple is also being examined. In fact, devotees bring cloth flags and horses from far and wide and offer them to the folk deity Baba Ramdev. These horses are 5 to 10 feet in size or sometimes even more.
Krishna’s Kali Yuga avatar, VVIP is also seen
Baba Ramdev’s Samadhi is in Ramdevara town of Jaisalmer. He is also considered to be the Kali Yuga avatar of Lord Krishna. In Hindu society he is worshiped as Baba Ramdev and in Muslim society he is worshiped as Ramsa Pir. Ramdevara Mela is organized every year on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Bhadar month on his birth date. The fair lasts for a month, with lakhs of devotees coming here from far and wide to have Baba’s darshan on foot, dance and sing to his songs on the DJ. To cater to these pilgrims on foot, Bhamashah provides free food and accommodation throughout the route.
