An IndiGo flight from Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur to Hyderabad received a bomb threat on Sunday. How was this threat made? There is no information about this but the flight was diverted after this. After this all the passengers were removed from the flight. The flight was landed in Nagpur. After this all necessary security checks were done. It is a relief that all the passengers traveling on the flight are safe.
In the last few days, there has been a significant increase in the number of false bomb threats to airports and hospitals. According to reports, earlier on June 18, 41 airports including Jaipur, Chennai and Varanasi received bomb threats via email. This was followed by an investigation for several hours. But all the threats turned out to be false. False bomb threats and messages disrupt flight schedules and it becomes necessary to screen all passengers, their luggage and the entire flight.
I have received threats before
Recently, on August 22, an Air India flight from Mumbai made an emergency landing at the Thiruvananthapuram airport after receiving a bomb threat. The flight landed at the airport at 8 am and was diverted to Isolation Bay. After this, the passengers were evacuated safely at around 9 pm. At that time too, 135 passengers were on board the flight. On June 17, authorities detained a 13-year-old boy at the Delhi airport for sending an email falsely claiming that a bomb had been planted on a Dubai-bound flight.

Not only airports or flights, about 60 hospitals in Mumbai have also received bomb threats through fake emails. Mumbai Police said that both private and government hospitals were involved and all the emails were sent to the hospitals’ public mail IDs using a virtual private network.
