The Maharashtra government has postponed the Eid-e-Milad holidays in Mumbai from September 16, 2024, to September 18, 2024. This has been done so that there is no conflict with Ganesh immersion. Following this, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) also cancelled the holiday on September 16, 2024.
What did RBI say?
The RBI had said, “The Government of Maharashtra has declared 18 September 2024 as a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.” Apart from Maharashtra, banks will also remain closed in Sikkim on 18 September 2024 for Pang-Lahabsol.
