A district court in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh has sentenced a woman to life imprisonment for brutally murdering her own husband. Apart from this, a fine of 70 thousand rupees has also been imposed. If the fine is not paid, the convicted woman will also have to undergo an additional imprisonment of five years.
The case is from Dinga Kotli area. Here on 14 February 2022, a person named Puran lodged a complaint with the police. Said – Sir, my sister-in-law has killed my brother. I got information on 12th February that my brother Jitendra has passed away. I immediately reached his house. I was told that it is not known how Jitendra died. But I found that my brother had serious injury marks on his private part. I suspected that Bhabhi had a hand in this. Bhabhi used to say something different every time. Sometimes she said that it was a natural death, sometimes she said that she did not know how Jeetendra died. Puran said- Sir, when I asked my innocent niece about this, she told me that her mother killed her father.

The police have registered a case on Puran’s complaint and started investigation. Jeetendra’s wife was also questioned. Then the police also asked the girl and she said – there was a fight between mom and dad. After closing the door, both of them were fighting in another room. I looked through the window and mom was beating dad. When he opened the door, he said Papa was not breathing.
The accused woman confessed to the crime
After the statement of the girl, the police strictly questioned the accused woman Sunita Devi. Sunita immediately broke down. He confessed his crime. He said she was having an extramarital affair with another person. The husband was becoming an obstacle in their love. Due to which she killed her husband.
Since then the case was going on in the district court. On Wednesday, the court gave its verdict in this case. The woman has been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of 70 thousand rupees.
