An official from the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism said that this Southeast Asian country is expected to see a 3-4 times increase in the number of Indian tourists in the current year (2024). Cambodian Tourism Minister Hul Seila said during the ‘Business, Leisure, Travel and MICE Tourism Expo 2024’ (BLTM) that we have launched the Cambodia-India Tourism Year for the first time this year, in order to tap into the Indian market. Because tourism is increasing rapidly in the country. We are seeing positive momentum and we expect many more tourists from India. We expect an increase of perhaps 3 or 4 times the current numbers.

How many Indians went to Cambodia in 2023?

Cambodia welcomed 68,836 Indian tourists in 2023. He said this figure was about 91 percent of the pre-Covid level (2019). In 2019, Cambodia welcomed 75,286 tourists from India. He said this year, the number of tourists arriving in Cambodia from India in the first six months (January-June 2024) was between 32,000 and 33,000, about 17 percent more than the same period a year ago.
