Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ has been releasedImage Credit Source: Social Media
After 28 years Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian’ part 2′ (Hindustani 2) was coming. His name was the biggest reason to watch the movie. Kamal Haasan’s prowess in using prosthetics in his films is rarely seen by any Indian actor. Then, curious to see what wonders Kamal Haasan and Shankar could do together, I watched this film. But when one sacrifices his sleep and goes to watch a movie early in the morning and that movie is very bad, the frustration and anger one feels. I am feeling disappointed after watching Indian 2.
I’m not saying this just for Kamal Haasan, ‘Aata Maazhi Satkali, Mala Raga Yetoy’ (Courtesy: Singham) movie is not very long in terms of time, but you get so tired while watching it that you think you can bear it. . A film should have at least two intervals. Now let’s talk about the film in detail.
story
A general (Kamal Haasan) who fought corruption in the country 28 years ago is no longer living in India. A group of youngsters trying to create social awareness through their videos now invite the Hong Kong-based commander to India under the ‘Bring back Indians’ campaign. To witness Senapati’s journey from ‘Bring Back Indian’ to ‘Go Back Indian’, you have to go to the theater and watch ‘Indian 2’.
How is this movie?
Indian 2 deals with corruption as well as many social issues. It is also necessary to talk about such issues. But when you try to awaken the society through cinema, the screenplay of that cinema should be equally powerful. The promotional campaign for Indian 3 seems to be more than the film ‘Indian 2’. That means watch this bad movie because we are bringing Indian 3 in 2025.
Similar clichéd stories are told in the film. We have been seeing these stories and such battles against corruption for years. The people fighting corruption in the first part suddenly fall behind the people eradicating corruption in the second part. That is, in two and a half hours this film creates so much confusion that ‘confusion is confusion, solution is not given’ and so after watching Hindustani 2 we can say that all is not well.
Directing and writing
Shankar is both the director and writer of the film. 14 years ago he made a film like Robot which was almost 10 years ahead of its time. His directing style is different and advanced from others. That’s why there were a lot of expectations from Bharatiya 2. But it was a huge disappointment. The film has a chase sequence between a police officer and the commander, where the policeman is trying to catch him and the commander is escaping on a modern tire that looks like a Segway. Looking at the chasing sequence, it seems that the chasing sequence of John Abraham’s ‘Dhoom’ which came 20 years ago was very good. As a director and writer, Shankar could not live up to the expectations of the audience.
Acting
Kamal Haasan tries his best to give his 100 percent in the film, but before corruption he had to fight with a directionless script and poor direction so that the audience could enjoy the film. It was good to see Siddharth Suryanarayan on screen after a long time. Rakulpreet comes and goes for a while. Bobby Sinha is also fine. A very good film could have been made with these actors. But the trailer launch press conference held in Mumbai was more interesting than the film itself.
To see or not to see
This is the problem not only with Bharatiya 2 but with all the southern directors that they have come to think of themselves as SS Rajamouli. But he forgot that every film is not ‘Baahubali’ and after Baahubali, Rajamouli made ‘RRR’, which did not have any sequel or prequel. Be it ‘Salar’, ‘Kalki’ or ‘Hindustani 2’, while making sequels to these films, these directors stretch the film so much that the audience gets bored.
Even in Salaar we get to know the film in the last half hour, Kalki’s real twist also comes during the climax of the film, Indian 2 becomes interesting when glimpses of Indian 3 are shown after the end. So all south directors are requested that dear sir, don’t torture, if possible finish the film in one part.
Now as far as Indian 2 is concerned, don’t watch it, wait for Indian 3, it will be great. Watch Sarfira this weekend or Pill on OTT, both are much better than this.
