The weather will be pleasant till the last week of July due to rain and cold winds.
In the national capital, Delhi, people are bothered by the humid heat. Rains brought relief to people in Delhi-NCR on Monday morning, but then the humidity added to the discomfort. Throughout the day, sometimes the sun was shining and sometimes the clouds were hiding. At night there was a slight chill in the atmosphere with the wind blowing. According to the Meteorological Department, Safdarjung, Lodhi Road and Ridge areas of Delhi received 3 cm of rain, Delhi University 4 cm, Pusa and Pitampura areas received 5 cm of rain. The sky was cloudy since Tuesday morning.
Heavy rains in North-West Indian states
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy and moderate rains in the states of North-West India. According to IMD, scattered to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh during the next 5 days. Scattered rain may occur over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, West Rajasthan.
Heavy rain will also occur in the hill states
Scattered to heavy rain is likely over West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand today. A similar situation may prevail in East Rajasthan today and tomorrow. Apart from this, scattered heavy rain is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan from July 23 to 26, Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh from July 23 to 24. Heavy rain is likely at scattered places over Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and West Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh today and tomorrow. Scattered/isolated heavy rain over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat state on 25th and 26th July, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka from 23rd to 26th July.
A strong wind will blow
The Meteorological Department has predicted strong surface winds (30-40 kmph) over South Peninsular India during the next 2 days. Strong winds are likely over Odisha, Kerala and Mahe over North Interior Karnataka on 25 and 26, Jharkhand during 23-25, Gangetic West Bengal during 23-24, Madhya Pradesh on 25 and 26, Chhattisgarh on 23 and 24 July. is
