India beat Bangladesh by 280 runs in the Chennai Test. This is India’s biggest Test win against Bangladesh in terms of runs. With this win, India has taken an unbeaten 1-0 lead in the 2-Test series. This is India’s 13th win against Bangladesh: India set a target of 515 runs to win against Bangladesh. In reply, the Bangladesh team could score only 234 runs in the second innings and lost the match. Ashwin was the most successful bowler for India in the second innings and took 6 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja took the last wicket of Bangladesh.

For India, Ashwin scored a century in the first innings while Pant and Gill scored centuries in the second innings. Rishabh Pant was dismissed with 109 runs while Shubman Gill remained unbeaten with 119 runs.

Against a mountain target of 515 runs set by India, Bangladesh were 280 runs away from victory in the second innings. Ashwin, who failed to take a wicket in the first innings, was the team’s most successful bowler in the second innings. He took 6 wickets in the second innings. He was adjudged player of the match for his century and 6 wickets in the Chennai Test. Apart from Ashwin, Jadeja was the other successful bowler in the second innings, taking 3 wickets.
